Delegation from Taiwan visited WUT

The Warsaw University of Technology was visited by representatives of the National Taipei University of Technology and the Taipei Representative Office in Poland. The visit included extending the student exchange agreement, discussions about expanding cooperation and a tour of CEZAMAT.

Our University was visited by The Ambassador of Taiwan to Poland, JE Bob L. J. Chen, Prof. Sea-Fue Wang – President of Taipei Tech, Prof. Chung-Kuang Yang – Vice President, Prof. Ho-Chiao Chuang from the Office of Research and Development, prof. Tun-Wen Pai from the Office of International Affairs and Meifen Chen – Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Poland.

The delegation from Taiwan started their visit at the PW Main Building. There they were greeted by the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Dean for Development from the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science, Prof. Przemysław Biecek and Director of the Centre for International Cooperation, Grzegorz Robak.

The PW Rector and the President of Taipei Tech signed an agreement extending cooperation on student exchange. In the years of 2012-2022, 13 of our students went to Taiwan. In that period, we hosted 45 people from the National Taipei University of Technology at PW. The new contract was signed for five years.

During the meeting, representatives of PW and Taipei Tech discussed the possibilities of expanding the existing cooperation with research activities like projects in the field of Project Based Learning and co-tutelle doctorates.

Then, at the end of the visit at the Main Building, guests from Taiwan visited the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT. There, the delegation was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Development, Prof. Adam Woźniak, Deputy Directors of CEZAMAT, Prof. Elżbieta Malinowska and Aleksandra Mościcka-Studzińska, Prof. Romuald Beck – Director’s Plenipotentiary for Strategic Projects, Prof. Zbigniew Brzózka – Chairman of the CEZAMAT Board and Head of Organizational Division, Joanna Otawska. Delegation members were taken on a tour of CEZAMAT's laboratories so they could familiarize themselves with the technologies and projects being developed there.
