Days of Warsaw University of Technology

13-15 November 2009 – Warsaw University of Technology invites everyone to its 94th birthday.

As part of the celebration of the Days of Warsaw University of Technology, exhibitions, lectures and presentations have been prepared – they will take us to the past, but at the same time to the future. With a guide, you will be able to visit all corners of the University and discover the secrets hidden in the walls of the Main Building. During the Picnic of the Student Scientific Circles young inventors will present their incredible achievements. You will also be able to learn which WUT lecturer writes with golden chalk and whether “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has anything to do with robot stories… We will also witness the elections of the most beautiful female student and the most handsome male student of WUT. And all of this will happen to the sound of original, dynamic music played by the Engineers Band.

Friday, 13 November

11.00 Opening of the exhibition Ecological House CEFIC (the Building of Physics – the Hall of Physics, ul. Koszykowa 75)
12.00 Exhibition – the 94th anniversary of opening Warsaw University of Technology (WUT Museum, ul. Nowowiejska 24)
12.30 Unveiling of a commemorative plaque for Zbigniew Lewandowski, MSc, a soldier of the Polish Home Army and a WUT academic teacher (the Building of the New Drawing Room, ul. Koszykowa 75)
13.15 Lecture ”Graduates shape the image of the University”, professor Piotr Moncarz (the Main Building, room 134)
15.15 – 16.30 ceremonial session of the WUT Senate (the Small Hall in the Main Building)
16.30 Opening of the exhibition Professors of Warsaw University of Technology in the mid-war period (the Main Building, the first floor galleries, close to the Main Library)
17.30 The Celebration of the Golden Book – a concert of the WUT Song and Dance Company and Masovia (the Small Hall in the Main Building)
11.00 – 17.00 tent with a barbecue (the Main Campus, yard number 2 next to the Main Library)

11.15 Opening of the exhibition of Automotive Technology (Plac Politechniki)
14.00 Race for the WUT Rector’s Cup (the Syrenka Stadium)
