Interstudent – competition for the best foreign student in Poland

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education entrusted the Educational Foundation ”Perspektywy” with organising a competition for the best foreign student studying in Poland.

As a result of the competition, which will last until November 2009, winners in three categories will be chosen: at the BA/BSc, MA/MSc and PhD levels. They will be the best foreign students studying at Polish public universities, as well as private ones; at studies in Polish, as well as in English or French – people whose activities enrich the academic environment and build bridges between cultures.

The main aim of the competition INTERSTUDENT is to increase the interest of foreign candidates in studies in Poland by wide popularisation of the profiles of the competition winners – in Poland and in their home countries. An equally important aim is to promote international mobility of Polish students, as well as to increase their interest in cultures of other nations.

A condition of participation in the competition is being active in the local student cultural, social, ecological and sports environment, activities for promotion of multiculturalism and good grades.

In order to participate in the competition, it is necessary to complete and send to the organisers the Interstudent Questionnaire (in Polish or in English). Questionnaires may be sent by: rectors or vice-rectors for international affairs, deans or vice-deans, university centres for international cooperation, students self-governments and heads of other student organisations. Candidates for the competition may also be proposed by fellow students.

The deadline for sending questionnaires by electronic or traditional mail (the questionnaire can be found at the website of the competition) is 19 October 2009.
