Modern and elegant – ”Entropy” - the fragrance of Warsaw University of Technology
What does Warsaw University of Technology smell like? The answer to this question has been found by the students from the Herbion Biotechnology Student Scientific Group, the creators of the perfume “Entropy”.
The fragrance of WUT – a combination of the most characteristic images from Warsaw University of Technology: old stone walls of buildings, preserved wood in the lecture halls, the dust and smell of chemical reagents in the air, the steel of machinery and the fountain in the yard of the main campus. Such a complex effect has been achieved thanks to using a wide array of ingredients: from sweet resins responsible for technical-synthetic overtones, wooden notes characteristic for Iso E Super, plant agar and soft musk; to spicy natural oil from black pepper which gives it its age-old, majestic character. “Entropy” enchants with its longevity and stays in the memory for a long time (Anna Liwska, Herbion Biotechnology Student Scientific Group).
“Entropy” is the first project of its kind in Poland, in which students, not professional perfume makers, prepared a unique fragrance. “Entropy” is a modern perfume, both for men and for women (unisex).
Work on the creation of the fragrance of Warsaw University of Technology has been carried out as part of the Rector’s grant given to Herbion Student Scientific Group. Since January 2009, students, mainly from the WUT Faculty of Chemistry, have been carrying out subsequent tasks the aim of which was first to design and now to produce a batch of perfume. We are planning to prepare 100 bottles of the perfume – said Agnieszka Cieślicka, the coordinator of the project.
The official premiere of the fragrance took place on 15 November 2009 during the Days of Warsaw University of Technology. The Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, professor Władysław Wieczorek, PhD, DSc, awarded the members of the project group and presented them with diplomas.
