Warsaw University of Technology as founding member of the Polish Business Chamber for Advanced Technologies
On the 1st of February, the Polish Business Chamber for Advanced Technologies started its activity. It was founded by 11 largest Polish universities, i.a. Warsaw University of Technology, four institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, BRE BANK S.A. and BANK PEKAO S.A. and 96 Polish companies.
Among others, the following persons participated in the Foundation Meeting – Waldemar Pawlak, deputy prime minister, prof. Barbara Kudrycka – minister for science and higher education, prof. Tadeusz Luty, president of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP), rector of Wrocław University of Technology. Prof. Włodzimierz Kurnik, rector of Warsaw University of Technology, took part in the meeting and in his speech elaborated on academic entrepreneurship in Poland.

Prof. Ryszard Pregiel was chosen president of the Chamber and vice-presidents – Mirosław Grudzień and prof. Tadeusz Kulik, vice-rector of Warsaw University of Technology for scientific research. President of the Council of the Chamber was elected prof. Jerzy Buzek, member of the European Parliament, professor of the Institute of Chemical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gliwice.
The aim of the activity of the Chamber is to stimulate development of entrepreneurship, with special consideration of academic entrepreneurship based on knowledge and to remove legal, financial and environmental barriers in this respect.
