We have won competitions for EU funds

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has announced the final results of a competition for participation of universities in the educational programme ”Support of the Didactic Potential of Universities”.

In the first stage, 85 projects (out of 287 submitted projects) have been evaluated positively and 32 projects have been qualified for realization. Our project, placed on the 21st position, has been fully accepted. We are going to receive almost 90 million zloty to be used in the years 2008-2015. This is the highest amount given to any one university. The second and third largest universities are going to receive half as much as Warsaw University of Technology. As needed, the funds will be used i.a. for grants for Ph.D. students and visiting professors, for adapting syllabi to the requirements of the job market and knowledge-based economy, launching new specializations, e-learning, support of the Careers Office, development of English-language studies.

Warsaw University of Technology has also applied for financing from the Ministry’s systematic project “Ordered Specializations”. From this source, we are going to receive 1.680 million zloty which will be spent on financing classes which increase the attractiveness of studying, compensatory programmes and grants for 30 students of the specialization MicroBioAnalysis at Biotechnology, Heating, District Heating, Ventilation and Gasworks at Environmental Engineering and Computer-Aided Engineering at Mechanics and Machine Design.
