He was awarded for his paper "DRFM-based Jamming of Passive Radar Using OFDM Waveforms". He discussed jamming a passive radar which uses OFDM signals, widely employed in radio, TV and Wi-Fi transmission standards.

The conference SET-298 took place in Legionowo on 31 May – 1 June 2023. It brought together several participants from the fields of the army, industry and science from NATO member states and cooperating countries. The meeting concentrated on jamming and counteracting jamming of active and passive radars.

Professor Mateusz Malanowski is head of the Passive Radiolocation Team in the Radiolocation Technology Laboratory at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. He deals with digital processing of signals and radiolocation, in particular objects detection, parameter estimation, object tracking and radar imaging.
