The conclusions will be used to define actions that would promote a wider use of environmentally-friendly means of transport. A team from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology has developed a new medicine design procedure that can be applied when there is little experimental data available on the molecular mechanisms of a disease or ways to treat it. The developed procedure is the result of the work of student Stanisław Kulczyk and associate professor Dr. Mariola Koszytkowska-Stawińska.

New discovery of a black hole in the Milky Way

Scientists have detected a 'hot spot' orbiting Sagittarius A*, the black hole at the centre of our galaxy. The discovery was made by a team led, among others, by Maciej Wielgus, PhD Eng., Polish astronomer and graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology.

Researchers from the Faculty of Chemistry have developed a method for producing zinc oxide (ZnO)­–based nanomaterials from organometallic precursors. The technology was implemented and then developed by Nanoxo. The solution has a wide range of industrial applications, and it was recently recognized in a competition promoting Polish innovations.
