Aim of project
The main aim of the project is possibly full understanding of the phenomenon observed in devices working on the basis of MR fluids, especially when vibrations and impact forces are applied to the considered system. Another important aspect of the project is to control results of the applied forces and to reduce them to the desired level. The proposed range of the project is related to a description of very complex MR fluid reactions on rapid impact forces. The phenomenon description should involve nonlinear characteristics, such as hysteresis loops or characteristics observed only during one measurement cycle.

Expected results
Response of MR fluids to impact loading forces;

Analysis of controlling possibilities of system operation based on MR fl uids to reduce measured forces to the appropriate limit;

Collecting suitable data necessary to design an MR damper prototype and its application to vibration and impact damping, particularly in light machine guns.
