Aim of project
Work on the development of condition diagnostics of basic control systems of vehicles has been done for many years. Present diagnostic systems, despite high technical advantages, to a small extent include the assessment of the condition of basic mechanical arrangements such as toothed gears or elements of the suspension. It is possible to get information about the change of condition of mechanical systems analyzing the change of non-linear eff ects during their work. The diagnostic system of the future should make possible total processing of the information given by detailed systems (OBD, stationary diagnostic instruments etc.).
Fast development of electronics allows to build logical structures (e.g. signal processors) with incomparably greater possibilities than a few years ago. We can now accept that separating the non-linear part of signals brings many possibilities of increase of accuracy, certainty and range of applying diagnostic methods, because nonlinearity increases with the destruction of the system.
Expected results
We predict a study of methodology of use of separated non-linear parts of the signal as diagnostic symptoms in our project. The proposed theory will be applicable, that is to say it will bring ready-to-use algorithms. The proposal of the vehicle diagnostic system based on the analysis of non-linear phenomena, will be a measurable effect of the project.
