Aim of project
The aim of this project is to investigate experimentally and to describe mathematically filtration of submicrometer and nanometer-sized aerosol particles, both liquid and solid, in fibrous filters, as well as experimental validation of the models. Investigations concern standard mechanical filters made of micrometer-sized fibers, nanofibrous mechanical media and electret filters composed of fibers with electric charge. Optimal structural characteristics of the filters and optimal process conditions will be searched for, especially for the most penetrating particles.
Expected results
Development of new models describing filtration of submicron particles and nanoaerosols, experimental verification of the models, manufacturing of nanofi brous media, development of a method for electret filters production, design of a concept of optimal fibrous structures for the most penetrating particles.
