Aim of project
The aim of this project is to synthesize complexes containing nickelacyclic rings, determine their structures and reactivity. The use of diff erent substrates (dilithioorganic compounds, nickelafl uorenyl complexes) should allow the synthesis of analogues of nickelocene and other compounds with nickelacyclic
ligands. The possibility of the synthesis of compounds in which nickelacyclic rigs are bonded to diff erent metal centers will also be examined. The part of the project dealing with reactivity of nickelacycles should be an interesting aspect. Reactions with metal salts, halogens and simple organic compounds will be carried out. It is also planned to check catalytic activity of metalacycles.
Expected results
The result of the project will be the development of the synthesis of nickelacyclic complexes in good yield.
The compounds will be characterized by means of spectroscopy (MS, NMR, EPR) and X-ray measurements. The structural characterization of compounds is very important to determine the bonding mode of nickelacyclic rings to the metal center. The electrochemical properties of the nickelacyclic complexes will also be examined. This project will also allow to determine the reactivity of nickelacycles.
