Aim of project
Reliable supply of power substation appliances is of key importance for operation of power systems. It is assured nowadays through application of lead-acid batteries and dieselelectric units. The disadvantages of such solutions are limited time of support, premature wear of batteries, as well as problems with starting of the diesel-electric unit. Thus, the possibility to put new devices into use should be considered. One of interesting powering devices, lately introduced onto the market, is a power cell. Its features, fi rst of all dynamical properties, effi ciency and simplicity of construction, result in a tendency to use it in systems of guaranteed powering.
The main aim is here to substitute or limit the role of chemical batteries, to decrease their rating and to extend support time of supply. The aim of the project is to evaluate different possible applications of a power cell in a power station, its possible benefits and dangers.
Expected results
Variants of applications of power cells in power stations, requirements for power cells in a specific variant, construction of the powering system in a specific variant, operational directions for appliances, evaluation of investment expenses.
