Aim of project
The main aim of the project is optimization of laser tube construction and laser generation conditions (discharge current, gas pressure, axial magnetic field intensity) in order to obtain high value of output power in UV range. The measurements of active medium parameters (unsaturated gain coeffi - cient, saturation parameter) and optimum mirror transmissions will also be executed. The investigations will be performed in pure noble gases (Ar, Kr, Ne) and their mixtures. A significant part of the investigations is determination of the influence of quasi -continuous pulse operation on laser output power.

Expected results
Laser tube modernization to obtain stable discharge on 50A current and 200mTr gas pressure;
Minimization (by about 30%) of disadvantageous gas pumping effect in laser tubes;
Obtaining the value of 3W of laser output power for LUV range (333–364 nm) in Ar laser and 2W in Kr laser;
Obtaining laser generation on new laser lines of Ar III and Kr III;
Optimization of laser generation conditions in Ar-Kr mixture;
Developing working gas pressure changing method in laser tubes;
Developing active medium parameters measurements method for all Ar and Kr laser lines;
Determination of optimum output mirror transmission for all investigated spectral ranges: LUV (333–364 nm), MUV (300–333 nm) and DUV (275–300 nm);
Developing laser power supply for quasi-continuous pulse laser operation;
Developing laser system prototype.
