Aim of project
Development of methodology of CHRIS/PROBA superspectral image processing for monitoring of eutrophication processes and for lake water quality assessment is the main goal of the project. The most important problem in satellite images usage for monitoring of the environment is proper preparation of satellite data (radiometric and atmospheric correction). A significant part of this project is to develop radiometric and atmospheric correction methods for CHRIS/PROBA images. Verification and enhancement of the methodology of obtaining spatial distributions of different water quality parameters based on CHRIS satellite images is an essential component of the study. The project is of interdisciplinary character and takes advantage of modern information technologies for environmental monitoring and protection.
Expected results
Methodology of CHRIS/PROBA superspectral image processing for obtaining spatial distribution of different lake water quality parameters will be the main result of the realized project. This methodology could be useful for operational monitoring of lake water quality in Poland.
