Aim of project
The main aim of the project is to develop and verify the model of plastic deformation in nanometals. In particular, the influence of structural features of materials on mechanical behaviour is considered.

The model designed within the project takes into account phenomena and properties of materials at diffrent time and length scales. Abinitio methods are used at quantum level, molecular dynamics techniques are applied for the atomic scale and statictical modelling is developed at mesoscale.

The application of multiscale approaches enables investigations of elastic properties of nanometals as well as investigations of the plastic deformation process.

Expected results
The model obtained within the project will facilitate understanding of the plastic deformation process in nanometals. In particular, the infl uence of structural parameters, such as grain size, grain shape on plastic deformation will be described.
