Aim of project
The aim of the project is the investigation of a new concept of combustion in a semi-open chamber in a real IC engine which was adopted for this research. The combustion chamber has such a design that during engine operation it consists of two separate chambers connected by a small opening (close to the top dead piston position) and open when the piston moves from that position. The conducted experiments show the effectiveness of such an arrangement for IC engine applications.
Moreover, the effectiveness of conversion of experimental results from a single compression machine as well as from numerical modeling to a real engine was evaluated.
Expected results
Results of the conducted research have both scientific and practical applications. The research opens a new way for application of the semi-open combustion chamber in real IC engines and it leads to publications of new results in technical and scientific papers.
