Aim of project
Getting familiar with surface layer constitution process during electrodischarge machining (EDM) and electrodischarge alloying (EDA). Investigation into the effect of single spark discharge influence on morphology of spark discharge traces. Researching the effect of the EDM & EDA parameters on surface layer condition after the machining. Researching the effect of the superficial cold work machining such as the roto-peen on surface layer condition after combined EDM & EDA and roto-peen machining.

Expected results
Development of relationship between EDM & EDA parameters and surface layer (SL) condition. Determining parameters of the superficial cold work machining such as the roto-peen ensuring optimum condition of SL modification after the EDM & EDA. Assessment of the effect of EDM & EDA combined with superficial cold work machining on the SL microhardness, abrasive wear resistance and fatigue resistance.
