Aim of project
Principal project purposes include:
1. Carrying out fundamental research on electric discharge in the and on electrochemical processes taking place in the interelectrode gap in presence of water solution dielectric of various conductivity.
2. Investigation into water solution dielectric properties on WEDM process stability and its performance indices, determining maximum electric conductivity.
3. Determining influence of hydrodynamic conditions in the inter-electrode gap on WEDM performance indices.
4. Determining WEDM realization conditions according to minimum cost criterion
Expected results
This project is aimed at the improvement of economic indices, so that slashing manufacturing cost while maintaining if not upbringing WEDM performance indices by selection of water solution dielectric properties and optimization of dielectric flow hydrodynamics. It is specifically feasible by shortening start-up time connected with de-ionization of water solution dielectric which is connected with determining acceptable conductivity, critical for process stability on the experimental basis. One important thing is that the method would not imply significant machine tool design change, so that it could be adapted for the existing installations.
