Aim of project
The aim of the project is development of original technology of capillary membranes production on an industrial scale and design of a technological installation. The proposed technological installation is an original construction solution developed by three groups from the Faculties of Chemical and Process Engineering, Chemistry and Mechatronics. The work was based on extensive experience in this area. The interdisciplinary character of the project requires good cooperation in many technical areas. Chemical and rheological properties of the examined polymers were studied. A system was developed for outer membrane diameter measurement and diameter control, as well as an original system for confection of capillary membranes.

Expected results
The result of the project is the prototype installation for polypropylene capillary membrane production on an industrial scale with the productivity of more than 1km/h. The developed technology is useful for the new didactic fi eld and discipline of Biomedical Engineering. The arrangement is helpful for didactic purposes at the Faculty of Chemistry. The companies: Padovan, Bio-Design, MTB-Technologies are interested in the developed installation for capillary membrane production.
