Aim of project
The scientific objective of the project is to analyse sources of economic growth in Poland and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in the past decades, and their prospects for the future development. Research problems: What was the real growth record in CEE in the period of central planning?

What factors can be used to explain a relatively low rate of growth?

How to explain the drop of production at the early stage of the transition process?

What was the growth potential of CEE countries during the transition process and to what extent has this potential been used?

What factors led to different economic results during the transition of CEE countries?

What is the growth potential that the CEE countries have today?

Expected results
A scientific monograph + 2-3 publications.
