Daria Pałgan, MSc, received the Best Paper Award at the sixth Nano-Joining & Micro-Joining International Conference, which took place between November 17 and November 21, 2025, in Yeongju, Korea. Daria’s presentation was titled: “Cu-Mo nanocomposites as an interlayer for joining in thermal management systems”.

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in an event that enhanced my understanding of the application potential of research conducted as part of my doctoral thesis and offered me a fresh perspective on the research,” says the doctoral student. “I was particularly gratified by the considerable interest shown in both the potential for combining Cu–Mo composites with other materials and the very concept of their production (combining copper with molybdenum at the nanoscale). The inspiring conversations with experts and the distinction I received are a strong incentive for me to further deepen my knowledge and continue the research.”

The presented research findings were obtained as part of the OPUS-LAP 22 project implemented under the supervision of Professor Małgorzata Lewandowska, called “Cu-Mo composites with a submicronic and nanometric structure and designed thermal properties”, co-financed by the National Science Centre. The conference trip was co-financed under the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” project as part of the mobility programme for doctoral students of the WUT Doctoral School.

The NMJ conference series is a forum for scientific and technological presentations, discussions, and personal exchange of experience in the field of nano- and micro-combinations. The participation in the event is an opportunity to listen to inspirational presentations, share the latest research findings, and talk to leading experts, making new connections and starting scientific collaboration.
