The Combains team comprising Natalia Choszczyk, Mikołaj Rowicki and Filip Langiewicz has secured the title of an international winner in a global hackathon Bit n Build. All team members study at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science in the field of study Data Science. The competition task was to develop two projects that use AI.
In the Bit n Build hackathon, organised by Google Developer Student Clubs in Mumbai (India) with the Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (CRCE), our students faced competitors from many countries.
– Hundreds of contestants from all over the world participated in the event and in the final round we beat teams from, for example, Great Britain, Africa, Italy, USA and United Arab Emirates. Although we worked online, our solutions found the highest recognition of the international jury – says Filip Langiewicz from Combains.
During the hackathon, our team developed two projects that use AI in totally different fields.
– The first one, Campaign Strategist, is a platform for development and planning of marketing campaigns with AI, which allows to automatically generate content and communication strategies. The other one, EchoMed, is an app analysing the user’s voice to detect early symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, which shows AI’s potential in the field of health and prevention –our student adds. – Winning Bit n Build shows that Polish tech teams can successfully compete on the global market. This experience has given us great motivation to develop both projects and strengthened our belief that technology can really change the world.
