The formal inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year

1 October at 10:00 a.m. in the WUT Main Building

A new academic year always marks the beginning of another chapter - bringing new challenges, plans and academic experiences. On 1 October at 10:00 a.m., we will formally inaugurate the 2026/2027 academic year in the Main Building. This year, the ceremony will take place at a particularly significant moment: in its bicentenary year, as the Warsaw University of Technology celebrates 200 years of history. It will be a unique inauguration, combining academic tradition with the present and future of a University that has educated successive generations of engineers, researchers and leaders for two centuries.

The ceremony will be led by Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, who will formally open the new academic year and deliver the inaugural address. The programme will also include speeches by invited guests and one of the ceremony’s most important moments: matriculation, the symbolic admission of new students to the WUT academic community. Representatives of all WUT faculties will take the oath and receive letters of congratulations from the Rector. The President of the WUT Students’ Union and the Chair of the WUT Doctoral Students’ Council will speak on behalf of students and doctoral students.

In keeping with tradition, the ceremony will be held in the Great Hall of WUT’s Main Building. A livestream will be available for those unable to join us in person. Details of the broadcast will be announced closer to the event.

Programme of the inauguration:
