During the EMRS Spring Meeting conference in Strasbourg, elections were held for the leadership of the European Materials Research Society (EMRS) - one of Europe's most important scientific associations uniting materials research specialists. Prof. Małgorzata Lewandowska from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology was elected EMRS Vice President.
The new board will also include Giuseppina Padeletti as President and Franck Tessier as Vice President. The new leadership's term will begin on September 1, 2025.
Prof. Małgorzata Lewandowska has been organizing EMRS Fall Meeting conferences in collaboration with EMRS for over 20 years. These annual events held at Warsaw University of Technology regularly attract over a thousand participants.
"My election as EMRS Vice President not only recognizes my work for EMRS and involvement in developing the EMRS Fall Meetings, but also confirms the long-standing, highly successful cooperation between Warsaw University of Technology and the Society," says Prof. Lewandowska. "The Main Building never fails to charm participants with its beauty, while the high scientific level of the symposia attracts growing numbers of attendees (1,200 last year). It's also an excellent opportunity for our researchers to establish new international contacts."
The next EMRS Fall Meeting will take place at Warsaw University of Technology from September 15-18, 2025.
