WUT-6 on Formula Student tracks – a recap of the 2025 season

The WUT Racing team

The 2025 season was a test of design and teamwork for WUT Racing. The new WUT-6 race car debuted at three Formula Student events – in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria – and the races confirmed that the adopted technical solutions work under real track conditions.

At Formula Student Poland 2025, the team secured 3rd place in CV AutoCross and 4th places in Cost & Manufacturing, Engineering Design, and Acceleration. In the Czech Republic, WUT Racing reached the podium, taking 3rd place in CV Engineering Design. These results highlight not only the competitiveness of this year’s car but also the extensive engineering expertise of the team members.

New car and behind-the-scenes preparations

The WUT-6 was designed for stable system performance under long-term loads. The drivetrain was redesigned to include hybridisation with the addition of an electric motor. A completely new load-bearing structure was developed together with the suspension system. The aerodynamic package was redesigned, with composite elements manufactured to reduce weight while maintaining stiffness and strength parameters. Key to success was fine-tuning the construction details, which directly translated into repeatable performance.

The team compared calculation results with hub dyno tests and telemetry data. Monitoring temperatures, loads, and subsystem performance made it possible to respond to deviations from assumptions and quickly introduce improvements.

“Each day of testing provided grounds for decisions, the effects of which could be seen on the track,” stress members of WUT Racing.

The Team, Cooperation, and Support

“Without the enormous support of the Warsaw University of Technology – both technical and financial – and broad-based partnership cooperation, we would not have been able to carry out such a comprehensive project and testing programme,” the WUT Racing team points out. “Equally crucial were funds from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, which made it possible to finance successive stages of work on WUT-6 – from purchasing components and technological services to testing and validation. Access to WUT laboratories, infrastructure, and partners’ know-how enabled us to quickly close design iterations and transfer improvements to the track.”

What’s Next?

The conclusions from the 2025 season set the direction for future work – from further optimisation of vehicle dynamics and the hybrid drivetrain to the development of telemetry tools. WUT Racing is preparing the next stages of the project, treating each entry as both a learning opportunity and a source of data for the subsequent iterations of the race car.
