The Warsaw University of Technology has taken 202nd place in Europe in the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026, while also ranking third in Poland (behind the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University) and confirming its position as the highest‑ranked technical university in the country. WUT has also maintained its position in the Top 10 of the Eastern Europe ranking, holding on to seventh place.
Compared with last year, we have moved up six places in the European ranking, bringing us closer to the upper boundary of the Top 250 universities in Europe.
In the regional (Europe) ranking, we competed against 958 academic institutions from 42 countries, which is 291 more than in the previous edition.
In Poland, WUT competed against 39 universities, of which 12 improved their position, 19 dropped, and eight appeared in the ranking for the first time.
The Warsaw University of Technology enjoys the strongest employer reputation among Polish institutions (first place in the Employer Reputation indicator). It also achieved high results in the key Academic Reputation metric, ranking third in the country.
The top universities in Europe remain the University of Oxford, ETH Zurich and Imperial College London.
QS WUR is a ranking in which the results of an international opinion survey conducted by the organiser among academics and employers play a key role (Academic Reputation: 30% of the score; Employer Reputation: 15%). The remaining criteria relate to publications (Papers per Faculty), citations (Citations per Paper), the number of academic staff and students, including international ones (International Faculty, International Student Diversity, Faculty Student Ratio), as well as sustainability.
