WUT student appointed as PKA student expert

Tomasz Olczak

Tomasz Olczak, student of the WUT Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, was appointed as student expert of the Polish Accreditation Committee. Student experts, as members of the evaluation committees, participate in inspections of fields of study all over Poland, and after the inspections, they contribute to reports that are the basis of programme evaluation decisions.

In accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Science, the Committee is a body responsible for evaluation and improvement of education quality at study programmes at HEIs. The decision to appoint Tomasz Olczak was a result of a four-level recruitment process, in which only 20 people were selected out of 200 applicants from all over Poland.

– The appointment to this team is a great distinction for me. I hope I will quickly settle down in the new role and will be able to successfully represent the perspective of students in actions for education quality improvement – says Tomasz Olczak.

The Team of Student Experts is part of the Polish Accreditation Committee. It is supervised by the Coordinator of the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland with the Polish Accreditation Committee. The main tasks of the team comprise exchanging experiences and good practice, efficient work organisation and support in completion of the initiatives undertaken. Student experts regularly participate in annual training and individual evaluation interviews. Additionally, they are involved in regular meetings and forums organised by the Polish Accreditation Committee on education quality in higher education.
