Our young, talented researchers were unmatched in the national final of FameLab 2025! Natalia Izdebska took first place, and Bartłomiej Łuszczuk secured the second spot on the podium. Natalia will represent Poland in the FameLab International Final on 25 November at CERN in Geneva.

1st Place: Natalia Izdebska

Natalia Izdebska, MSc, is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology and a doctoral student at the WUT Doctoral School. During the final, she delivered a presentation titled “Batteries Will Get Better – But Can You Build Them Out of Lego Bricks?”

"What I found particularly valuable in this competition were the workshops and the connections we made. We had the opportunity to train under the guidance of science communicators known internationally. Each final presentation covered a completely different area of science, which was incredibly inspiring. We met a group of young researchers and shared our impressions and experiences from our scientific work, projects, and laboratories," says Natalia Izdebska.

2nd Place: Bartłomiej Łuszczuk

Bartłomiej Łuszczuk is a biotechnology student at the Faculty of Chemistry. His final presentation was titled “HepaSwitch: The Genetic Switch to a Healthy Liver.”

"I was impressed by the organisation and scale of the final. We performed at the Rialto cinema theatre on a very elegant stage. The most valuable thing I'm taking away from this event are the new friendships. The finalists were a fantastic group of ambitious young people, and the competition level was very even. I'm also very grateful to them because just before my presentation I felt strong stage fright, but we managed to ease it together. Now that the initial emotions have settled, I feel immense joy that I could be a part of FameLab Poland 2025," adds Bartłomiej Łuszczuk.

FameLab is the world's largest science communication competition. It was established in 2005 in Cheltenham, UK, as part of a local science festival. The idea behind FameLab is to present complex scientific topics in an understandable way—in exactly three minutes.
