It’s one of the most important international rankings of universities

In this year’s edition, like last year, the Warsaw University of Technology was one of the institutions ranked 1201-1500. It should be noted that the number of points our University was awarded rose.

Times Higher Education World University Ranking is a global ranking listing HEIs of various profiles, from over 100 countries and dependent territories. In 2023, over 1904 institutions, including 37 Polish ones, were ranked.

For the eight time, University of Oxford is at the top of the ranking. Stanford University moved up to the second position and Massachusetts Institute of Technology to the third.

Polish HEIs with the best results in this year’s ranking – in the range of 601-800 – were the Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University and Medical University in Wrocław.

The ranking covers 18 performance indicators in five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and international outlook. An important role is also played by results of the Academic Reputation Survey, in which respondents (academic experts, such as scientists, researchers and academic community representatives) are asked for a subjective evaluation of the university on the basis of their knowledge and experience in various areas of science.

Compared with last year’s results, the Warsaw University of Technology was awarded more points in every category of university evaluation, analysed by the ranking organisers.
