Cookies policy

This Privacy Policy sets out the rules for storing and accessing information on the User's devices using Cookies, which are used to provide electronic services requested by the User, by the Warsaw University of Technology with its registered office in Warsaw (postal code 00-661), Pl. Politechniki 1.

§ 1. Definitions
  1. Administrator - denotes the Warsaw University of Technology with its registered office in Warsaw (postal code 00-661), Pl. Politechniki 1, REGON: 000001554, which provides electronic services and stores and accesses information in the User's devices. 
  2. Cookies - denotes IT data, in particular small text files, saved and stored on devices through which the User uses the Website. 
  3. Administrator's cookies - means Cookies stored by the Administrator, related to providing services by electronic means by the Administrator via the Website. 
  4. External Cookies - Cookies are published by the Administrator’s partners, through the website of the Service. 
  5. Service - denotes the website under which the Administrator operates the website, operating in the domain www.pw.edu.pl. 
  6. Device - an electronic device which the User uses to access the internet service websites. 
  7. User - denotes an entity for which electronic services may be provided, pursuant to the Rules of Procedure and legislation, or with which a contract may be concluded for electronic services to be provided.
§ 2. Types of Cookies used
  1. Cookies used by the Administrator are safe for the user's device. In particular, it is impossible to transfer viruses to User's Device via this channel, or other unwanted or malicious software. These files allow for identification of software used by the User and adapting the Website to their individual needs. Cookies usually contain the name of the domain they come from, time of storing them in the device and ascribed value. 
  2. The Administrator uses two types of cookies:
    1. Session cookies: stored on the user's device until the end of the current browser session. The stored information is then deleted from the device.
    2. Permanent Cookies: are stored on the User's Device and remain there until they are deleted. Ending a browser session or turning the Device off does not delete them from the User's Device.
§ 3. The purposes for which Cookies are used
  1. The administrator uses its own cookies to authenticate the User on the website and ensure a User’s session on the website, and in particular to: 
    1. maintenance of the website User's session (after logging in) to allow the user to use the website without re-typing their login and password; 
    2. correct configuration of selected Website functions, allowing, in particular, verification of the authenticity of the browser session, 
  2. The Administrator uses its own Cookies in order to carry out the processes necessary for the full functionality of the websites, in particular to: 
    1. adjusting the content of the Website to the User's preferences and optimising the use of the Website. In particular, these files allow us to understand the basic parameters of the User's Device and properly display the web page tailored to their individual needs. 
  3. The Administrator uses its Own Cookies for the purpose of analysis, research and cookie audit and in particular in order to create anonymous statistics, which help to understand the way the Service User’s use the service websites, which helps to improve their structure and content.
  4. Cookies are not used by the Administrator to collect any personal data or any confidential information from the User's Device.
§ 4. Possibilities of determining the conditions of storage or access by Cookies
  1. The user can personally change their cookie file settings at any time, defining the conditions for their storage and access to the User's device. Changes of settings mentioned in the previous sentence can be done by the User via browser settings or service configuration. In particular, these settings can be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform the User whenever Cookies are placed on the User's device. Detailed information about the possibility and methods of using cookies is available in the settings of your software (web browser).
  2. The User can delete Cookies at any time using the functions available in the used browser. 
  3. Restricting Cookies can affect some functions available on the Website. In such a case, using the Website will still be possible with the exception of functions requiring cookies.
