WUT results in the QS by Subject ranking

In the latest edition of the QS by Subject ranking, we have kept the ranking of the best university in Poland in the field of Engineering & Technology and the third ranking in the category of Natural Sciences. Both rankings cover over 500 universities.

The ranking QS by Subject: Engineering & Technology lists five Polish universities. The Warsaw University of Technology is ranked 231, the Wrocław University of Technology 340, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków 366, the Gdańsk University of Technology 391 and Warsaw University 401-450.

This category comprises eight disciplines: computer science and information systems, engineering – chemical, engineering – civil and structural, engineering – electrical and electronic, engineering – mechanical, engineering – mineral and mining, data science, and engineering – petroleum. Our University is listed in five of them, and in four of them we have the first place in Poland.

Engineering – chemical:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 201-250 (1st ranking in Poland),
  • Wrocław University of Technology – ranking 251-300,
  • Łódź University of Technology – ranking 351-400.

Engineering – civil and structural:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 151-200 (1st ranking in Poland),
  • other Polish universities are not included.

Computer science and information systems:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 251-300 (2nd ranking in Poland),
  • Warsaw University – ranking 201-250,
  • Wrocław University of Technology – ranking 451-500.

Engineering – electrical and electronic:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 151-200 (1st ranking in Poland),
  • Gdańsk University of Technology – ranking 251-300,
  • Wrocław University of Technology – ranking 251-300.

Engineering – mechanical:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 151-200 (1st ranking in Poland),
  • AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków – ranking 251-300,
  • Wrocław University of Technology – ranking 251-300.

 
In the field of Natural Sciences, the Warsaw University of Technology was ranked 275 in the world. The ranking includes seven Polish universities. Two of them were ranked higher than PW. These are: Warsaw University (ranking 153) and Jagiellonian University (ranking 192).

Natural Sciences covers nine disciplines: chemistry, earth and marine sciences, environmental sciences, geography, geology, geophysics, materials sciences, mathematics, physics and astronomy. The Warsaw University of Technology is ranked in four of them, in two of them we have the first place in Poland.

Chemistry:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 301-350 (joint 2nd ranking in Poland),
  • Jagiellonian University – ranking 251-300,
  • Warsaw University – ranking 301-350.

Mathematics:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 301-350 (joint 2nd ranking in Poland),
  • Warsaw University – ranking 148,
  • Jagiellonian University  – ranking 301-350.

Materials sciences:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 201-250 (joint 1st ranking w Poland),
  • Wrocław University of Technology – ranking 201-250,
  • Stanisław Staszic AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków – ranking 251-300.

Physics and astronomy:

  • Warsaw University of Technology – ranking 251-300 (joint 2nd ranking in Poland),
  • Warsaw University – ranking 151-200,
  • Jagiellonian University  – ranking 251-300.

 

In addition to the mentioned fields, the Warsaw University of Technology was also ranked in two disciplines. These are architecture (in Arts & Humanities), where we are ranked 151-200 (1st ranking in Poland) and business and management (in Social Sciences and Management), where we are ranked 551-580 (joint 5th ranking in Poland).

QS by Subject is a ranking drawn up by the company Quacquarelli Symonds – an international higher education expert. The main (general) QS ranking is one of the most important global education rankings, in line with Times Higher Education, Shanghai Ranking and Best Global Universities.
