Warsaw University of Technology in Shanghai Ranking

Shanghai Ranking has been published since 2003

We are among the best universities in the world

As in previous years, our university has been classified at positions 901 – 1000 in the latest Shanghai Ranking (ARWU – Academic Ranking of World Universities). 

This year’s ARWU ranking features nine Polish universities. Apart from Warsaw University of Technology these are: 

  • Jagiellonian University in Kraków (at positions 401-500),
  • University of Warsaw (at positions 401-500),
  • AGH University in Kraków (at positions 801-900),
  • Wroclaw Medical University (at positions 801-900),
  • Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań (at positions 901-1000),
  • Gdańsk  University of Technology (at positions 901-1000),
  • Medical University of Warsaw (at positions 901-1000),
  • Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (at positions 901-1000).

The top-ranked ARWU universities this year are Harvard University, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Shanghai Ranking is a list of the best universities in the world,  compiled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and issued since 2003.

The ranking methodology is based on 6 indicators: 

  • alumni as Nobel laureates and Fields medalists,
  • staff as Nobel laureates and Fields medalists
  • highly cited researchers (Clarivate base),
  • papers published in Nature or Science,
  • papers indexed in Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index,
  • per capita academic performance of an institution. 

Shortly, we will announce the results of the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in the categories relevant for our university.
