World’s TOP 2% Scientists is a ranking of the most influential scientists in the world. Their publications are the most frequently cited by other authors.

59 representatives of the Warsaw University of Technology were listed in the ranking World’s TOP 2% Scientists 2022, prepared by Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier publishing house.

TOP 2% Scientists 2022 consists of two separate lists. The first one evaluates research achievements (based on data since 1960), and the other covers only publications and citations from the last calendar year. The list regarding academic career includes 1066 researchers from Poland – they represent 174 scientific institutions (universities and research institutes). The Warsaw University of Technology may be proud of 53 representatives. On the list for last year, there are, in turn, 1142 Poles from 175 institutions and 36 people from WUT.

The ranking is developed on the basis of researchers’ academic achievements according to the bibliometric index. The evaluation criteria were the Hirsch index, number of citations (including self-citations), Impact Factor and the place and role on the list of authors.

Full ranking is available on the Elsevier website.
