23^rd edition of "KONIK" Coming this October

As Confucius, the great Chinese thinker, once said, “it is a pleasure to learn and to apply what one has learned at the right time.” This year, once again, it will be possible to see how knowledge translates into practice, and how the hours students spend working on projects turn into results and achievements that influence our surroundings and everyday lives. On 7 and 8 October, the 23^rd Fair of Student Research Groups “KONIK” will take place, and we warmly invite you to attend.

Soon, the Main Building and the square in front of it will be filled with representatives of numerous student research groups, inspiring and encouraging fair participants to take action. Racing cars and motorcycles, unmanned aerial vehicle designs, and Mars rovers – these are just a few of the dozens of projects that will be on display among the approximately 90 exhibitors participating in this year’s edition of KONIK.

This year, just like the opening quotation, the fair is based on Chinese culture. The theme is inspired by the Chinese Year of the Horse – a perfect fit for the themes and values underlying KONIK. The Chinese believe that the horse symbolizes the need for continuous development, movement, and readiness to take on challenges. And isn’t KONIK exactly the right place to find a research club or organization worth getting involved in?

"KONIK" is a place full of passion, energy, and inspiring projects. You only need to talk to the exhibitors for a moment, and the motivation to take action comes naturally" – says Natalia Mikulska, coordinator of the 23^rd Fair of Student Research Groups "KONIK".

On the day before the event, on 6 October, the Small Hall of the Main Building will also provide an opportunity to take a closer look at projects already completed by student research clubs, which over the past year had the opportunity to carry out a variety of innovative Rector’s Grants. During the “Golden KONIKs” Student Research Movement Gala, the winners of a competition recognizing the research clubs that have distinguished themselves most in areas such as activity and publications will also be announced.

"The 'Golden KONIKs' Gala is a unique event that serves as a ceremonial culmination of all scientific projects at the University of Technology, beautifully demonstrating how science develops together with the academic community" – adds Joanna Wypych, Vice-Chair for Promotion of the Student Research Groups Council.
