4th edition of the "Stawiamy_" project: the Pavilion of Experiment

The pavilion was designed and built by students of the Faculty of Architecture as part of the Architecture of Technology and Structure (A3) design studio, led by Professor Anna Maria Wierzbicka. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Royal Łazienki Museum and external partners.

This year's edition of the "Stawiamy_" project explores the idea of experimentation, understood both as a social concept and as an architectural and structural approach. At the heart of the project is the concept of the common table, which served as the inspiration for the Pavilion of Experiment.

Responding to a reality increasingly shaped by digital communication and smartphone screens, the designers have created a space that encourages face-to-face encounters. Set within the historic landscape of the Royal Łazienki Museum, the wooden pavilion offers an inviting place for open interaction. Rather than prescribing how the space should be used, it naturally encourages visitors to pause, relax and engage in conversation surrounded by greenery.

The Pavilion of Experiment also introduces a new architectural approach. Unlike the previous three installations, which were based on centralised, symmetrical layouts, this year's pavilion features an elongated, asymmetrical form. This change allows the structure to interact differently with its surroundings while encouraging new ways of using the space and fostering social interaction.

The installation is part of the "Stawiamy_" initiative, launched by Professor Anna Maria Wierzbicka. Previous editions resulted in the Pavilion of Freedom (2023), the Pavilion of the Future (2024), and the Pavilion of Community (2025). The Pavilion of Experiment will remain open to visitors until the end of September.
