Change and the City. Conference of WUT Faculty of Architecture

Presenting the research, technology and projects which address changes in the functional and spatial structure and equipment of cities in response to climate change and its impact is the main purpose of the conference Redefining Cities in View of Climate Changes.

The event is scheduled to take place on November 20–21, 2019 at the Warsaw University of Technology’s Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management (CZIiTT, ul. Rektorska 4). 

The conference participants will discuss issues such as how to design the functional and spatial structure, public areas, natural system, buildings and infrastructure of cities in the face of climate change by harnessing high technologies.

Scientists and experts of scientific institutions, architecture studios and municipal and provincial authorities from Poland and abroad will be speakers at the conference. The following guests will give keynote lectures:

  • Arch. Søren Riis Dietz (Architect – Bjerg Arkitektur Studio, Denmark)
  • Prof. Landscape Arch. Manfred Köhler (University of Applied Science, Neubrandenburg)
  • Assoc. Prof. Arch. Emanuele Naboni (KADK, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation)
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Piotr Noakowski (Technische Universität Dortmund)
  • Assoc. Prof. Arch. Rafi Segal (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
  • University Professor Michał Stangel, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. Arch. (Silesian University of Technology)
  • University Professor Katarzyna Zielonko-Jung, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. Arch. (Gdańsk University of Technology)
