Two weeks of creative work, 33 students from all universities involved  in the Enhance consortium and joint efforts in order to define the problems related to the climate change – this summarizes  the core of the ENHANCE Summer School on Climate Change organized by  Warsaw University of Technology.

– Being part of such a diverse   group  of people and ideas has been an incredible academic adventure. Concentrating on the issues of climate change and developing possible solutions was a life lesson for all participants, both students and academic teachers – says Artur Filip, PhD, from the Faculty of Architecture, one of the summer  school  instructors .

The classes were held in the hybrid mode and those conducted face to face at the Warsaw University of Technology were the first live meeting of students from all ENHANCE universities. The classes were run using design thinking tools and methodology.

The students who from 15th  to 28th  September 2021  participated in the summer school came up with some ideas to develop a green campus. – The summer school brought together students with different experiences. It was a huge challenge to use this diversity to develop not only interesting concepts, but also prototypes which could be initially tested already during the classes – stresses Mariusz Kaleta, PhD, from the team of the summer school lecturers, based at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology.

The project teams were methodically following a predefined project path. As stressed by the participants, it was not an easy process but it was worth the effort. We will soon see the results of the brain storming  sessions done by the students and the details of the submitted projects.

WUT academic staff engaged in the project: Katarzyna Bargieł (Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography), Anna Cudny (Faculty of Architecture), Artur Jerzy Filip (Faculty of Architecture), Mariusz Kaleta (Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology) i Anna Rolewicz-Kalińska (Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering).

Organizers: Centre for International Cooperation in cooperation with INFOX PW and WUT Distance-Learning Centre (OKNO PW).
