Funeral Ceremony of the Rector of WUT, Professor Jan Szmidt
We would like to inform you that the funeral ceremony, including the Holy Mass, will be held on 17 February 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral House at Powązki Military Cemetery, 43/45 Powązkowska Street, followed by the procession to the place of burial. A condolence book will be available from 16 to 18 February in the Main Hall of the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology.
Members of the Warsaw University of Technology academic community who wish to attend the funeral ceremony at Powązki Military Cemetery may use the transportation provided by the University. Coaches will be available from 11:45 a.m. at Politechniki Square and in the internal parking area next to the Faculty of Mechatronics (Narbutta Street). Departure is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
Condolence Book
From 16 to 18 February 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., a condolence book will be available in the Main Hall of the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology. We encourage you to leave a message in the condolence book as an expression of remembrance and respect for the Deceased.
