The Polish sprint relay team took the third place in European speed skating championships. A member of the team was a WUT student, Marek Kania.
The competition in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, was an important test before the main event of the season – the Olympic Games in Beijing (4-20 February 2022). The test went very well for the Polish representation. Three places on the podium gave the Polish representatives the second place in the medal classification.
Our student gave a very good performance, as well. He won a team medal (Poles set a new Polish record) and took the eight individual place – in the 500m race. It is worth noting that for Marek Kania it was a debut in European championships and another success this season (after the World Cup and winning the Olympics qualifications). Now is the time for training and performance at the Olympic Games.
