MedTech-Athon - a marathon of work on own research ideas, submitted by teams of PhD students is launched at the Warsaw University of Technology. The expected results of the work are the concepts of practical solutions ordemonstrators for medicine, developed by the teams.

During the kick-off meeting (on 17 March 2022) doctoral students will get information about the participation rules in MedTech-Athon, integrate with each other and have opportunity to carry on conversation on teams’ composition.

Then, on the Knowledge and Competence Platform PhD students will have the opportunity to propose their own research ideas in the area of biomedical engineering and create a team to implement it. In this way, the formed teams will apply to MedTech-Athon - the Main Event. The organizers will select the teams (if there are more than 15 teams registered). After that, the selected participants will take part in trainings (Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas, Project Management, User Experience for Participants).

The Main Event will held on 27-29 May 2022. It will be the weekend marathon of teams working on concepts for solutions or demonstrators for medicine.

Participants will get ECTS credits, research grants, research internships at WUT and participation in the WUT Acceleration Program.

MedTech-Athon is organised by Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies (CEZAMAT) and Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of Warsaw University of Technology (CZIiTT WUT).
