ReWaTer-X – a new student research group at WUT
The scope of activity of the ReWaTer-X student research group covers topics in chemistry and environmental chemistry, with particular focus on chemical methods of industrial wastewater treatment. The idea for establishing ReWaTer-X emerged during research work carried out within an international team involving students from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology and the Technical University of Madrid.
This collaboration produced promising research results on the application of the innovative IME method for treating leachate from municipal waste landfills. It also allowed students to gain new knowledge and practical skills in the field of advanced industrial wastewater treatment methods. The project attracted significant interest among English-speaking students, which led to the decision to continue research activities involving students. As a result, the ReWaTer-X student research group was founded – Research in Water and Wastewater Treatment.
The team focuses on developing innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment using chemical methods. However, the group’s activities go beyond laboratory research. Members also build connections with industrial plants, take part in scientific and team-building trips, attend conferences, and prepare scientific publications.
ReWaTer-X has an international character – it brings together passionate individuals who are eager to learn, but above all committed to active work both in the chemical laboratory and in the field.
The innovative and scientific spirit of the group is best reflected in the “X” deliberately placed at the end of its name – symbolizing openness to new ideas and approaches.
