World's TOP 2% Scientists 2020 consists of two separate lists

57 people from the Warsaw University of Technology were included in the World's TOP 2% Scientists 2020 ranking, prepared by the Stanford University in cooperation with the Elsevier publishing company.

This year's list features 15 more WUT researchers than in the previous year's.

Most of our researchers (23) represent the field of Engineering. Following are Enabling & Strategic Technologies (15 people), Physics & Astronomy (9 people), Information & Communication Technologies (5 people), Chemistry (4 people) i Biomedical Research (1 person).

World's TOP 2% Scientists 2020 consists of two separate lists The first assesses the scientific achievements from the beginning of the career to 2020, the second takes into account only publications and citations from the last calendar year. In the first one, the Warsaw University of Technology can boast with 49 employees, in the second - 34 people. This makes up 57 names in total, as some people appear in both charts.

The list of all scientific achievements includes 147 institutions (universities and research institutes) from Poland and 957 scientists. The 2020 list includes 153 national institutions and 1,027 people.

The TOP 2% ranking was developed based on the scientific achievements of individual researchers according to the bibliometric index. The assessment criteria were the Hirsch index, the number of citations (including self-citations), Impact Factor, and the position and role on the list of authors.

The full list is available on the Elsevier website.
