The event is held from 11 to 14 November, photo Facebook/Web Summit

Ca. 60 people will represent Warsaw at one of the largest technological events in the world. This group includes representatives of the Warsaw University of Technology from our venture capital fund WUT IF: Chairman of the Board, Karol Matczak, and Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics, Professor Robert Sitnik.

Web Summit brings together people from the technological industry, investors and opinion leaders. Among other entities, Warsaw will present there its potential. One of the partners selected for the event is the venture capital fund Warsaw University of Technology Investment Factory (WUT IF) – the first in Poland venture capital fund established by a public university. 

– We are going there to build relations with partners from Europe: startups, VC funds and other universities and accelerators – explains WUT IF Chairman of the Board, Karol Matczak. – For us it is an opportunity to develop our network and processes and as a result, support startups to go beyond Poland.

Karol Matczak and Professor Robert Sitnik will represent WUT IF, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw. This is not everything, however – they will both make a power speech. Karol Matczak will give a talk ”Founder. Childhood world curiosity lets us win”, and Professor Robert Sitnik will present the topic ”Scientists in business. Are research-based startups successful?”. 

– We want to promote the Warsaw University of Technology as a modern university which concentrates on cooperation with business – says Karol Matczak. 

Web Summit 2024 is held in Lisbon on 11–14 November.
