WUT climbs 42 places in QS World University Rankings
Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) has achieved a global ranking of 487th in the prestigious QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) — securing the third-highest position among Polish institutions. This represents a significant rise of 42 places from the previous year and marks WUT's highest-ever position in the history of this ranking.
Among Polish institutions, only the University of Warsaw (271st globally) and the Jagiellonian University (303rd) ranked higher than WUT. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań secured fourth place nationally, ranking in the 741-750 band.
The top three universities globally in this year's ranking are:
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – maintaining the first place for the 14th consecutive year
- Imperial College London – retained second place
- Stanford University – rose from sixth to third place
The QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) is among the world's most influential university rankings, forming part of the 'Big Three' alongside the Shanghai Ranking (ARWU) and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE). The 2025 edition evaluated over 1,500 institutions globally, including 20 from Poland.
The QS WUR methodology assesses universities across five key areas:
- Research performance (50%)
- Graduate employment outcomes (20%)
- Educational experience (10%)
- Internationalization (15%)
- Sustainability (5%)
The ranking is compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds, a global leader in higher education analysis and educational consultancy.
