WUT in the Best Engineering Universities in Europe Ranking EngiRank 2024
Our University has the 64th ranking (up by 5 places) among over 180 higher technical schools from 27 EU countries, as well as Switzerland and Norway. The same ranking was also awarded to Gdańsk University of Technology and Silesian University of Technology. The only Polish technical university ranked higher is the AGH University of Science and Technology (48th ranking).
The top places were awarded to: Technical University of Denmark (Denmark), Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands), KU Leuven (Belgium). The same three universities were also leaders of last year’s ranking.
WUT’s ranking by subject in EngiRank 2024:
- Chemical Engineering: 49th ranking (out of 170), up from 77th ranking.
- Civil Engineering: 70th ranking (out of 144), up from 77th ranking.
- Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering: 71st ranking (out of 179), up from 95th ranking.
- Environmental Engineering: 86th ranking (out of 161), down from 74th ranking.
- Materials Engineering: 47th ranking (out of 197), up from 71st ranking.
- Mechanical Engineering: 76th ranking (out of 178), down from 63rd ranking.
- Medical Engineering: 59th ranking (out of 98), up from 63rd ranking.
The methodology of the ranking covers publications, citations, industry cooperation, research done in cooperation with business and social partners, patents, contribution to sustainable development goals, participation in EU programmes (Horizon, Erasmus, European Universities), accreditations. Ranking organisers prepare it in cooperation with Elsevier. Data are collected from databases: Scopus/SciVal, CORDIS, EPO-PATSTAT, EUR-ACE, ENAEE, ABET.
EngiRank was first published in 2020. In 2023 it came back with renewed methodology, which is used also in this year’s edition.
