The top places were awarded to: Technical University of Denmark (Denmark), Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands), KU Leuven (Belgium). The same three universities were also leaders of last year’s ranking.

WUT’s ranking by subject in EngiRank 2024:

• Chemical Engineering: 49^th ranking (out of 170), up from 77^th ranking.
• Civil Engineering: 70^th ranking (out of 144), up from 77^th ranking.
• Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering: 71^st ranking (out of 179), up from 95^th ranking.
• Environmental Engineering: 86^th ranking (out of 161), down from 74^th ranking.
• Materials Engineering: 47^th ranking (out of 197), up from 71^st ranking.
• Mechanical Engineering: 76^th ranking (out of 178), down from 63^rd ranking.
• Medical Engineering: 59^th ranking (out of 98), up from 63^rd ranking.

The methodology of the ranking covers publications, citations, industry cooperation, research done in cooperation with business and social partners, patents, contribution to sustainable development goals, participation in EU programmes (Horizon, Erasmus, European Universities), accreditations. Ranking organisers prepare it in cooperation with Elsevier. Data are collected from databases: Scopus/SciVal, CORDIS, EPO-PATSTAT, EUR-ACE, ENAEE, ABET.

EngiRank was first published in 2020. In 2023 it came back with renewed methodology, which is used also in this year’s edition.
