WUT in the latest QS World University Ranking by Subject

Our University has been ranked in 11 disciplines and two subject areas: Engineering and Technology, and Natural Sciences. In five disciplines, we moved up; in another five, we maintained our position; and in one, we returned to the ranking.

Once again, Warsaw University of Technology has been included among the universities listed in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, published by Quacquarelli Symonds.

This year’s edition is the largest so far. Compared to the previous edition, 171 new universities were included (mainly from South Korea, China, and the Arabian Peninsula). In total, more than 1,700 higher education institutions were ranked (out of over 5,000 applicants). Poland is represented by 29 universities.

Our university’s detailed results:

  • Engineering – Civil and Structural: ranking 151–200 out of 277 (returned to the ranking; only university from Poland)
  • Engineering – Electrical and Electronic: ranking 151–200 out of 550 (up from 201–250; ranked 1st out of 6 in Poland) 
  • Engineering – Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing: ranking 151–200 out of 578 (maintained position; ranked 1st out of 9 in Poland)
  • Architecture and Built Environment: ranking 201–260 out of 261 (maintained position; the only university from Poland)
  • Computer Science and Information Systems: ranking 201–250 out of 850 (up from 251–300; ranked 2nd out of 8 in Poland) 
  • Engineering – Chemical: ranking 201–250 out of 451 (up from 251–300; ranked 1st out of 4 in Poland) 
  • Materials Science: ranking 201–250 out of 552 (maintained position; ranked 1st out of 10 in Poland)
  • Mathematics: ranking 251–300 out of 600 (up from 301–350; ranked 2nd out of 7 in Poland) 
  • Physics and Astronomy: ranking 251–300 out of 677 (maintained position; ranked 3rd out of 9 in Poland)
  • Chemistry: ranking 301–350 out of 699 (maintained position; ranked 3rd out of 10 in Poland)
  • Business and Management Studies: ranking 501–550 out of 651 (up from 551–600; ranked 5th out of 6 in Poland)

We maintained our position as the top Polish university in the Engineering and Technology area (197th in the world out of 551; previously: 232nd) and the third in the Natural Sciences area (295th in the world out of 550; previously: 312th).
