Warsaw University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań have been selected to participate in the Google.org Cybersecurity Seminar program, through which they may receive a grant of up to 1 million dollars.
Thanks to this funding, the universities will introduce an innovative seminar program into their educational offer for students interested in the field of cybersecurity threat prevention. By participating in the classes, students—future cybersecurity experts—will not only gain theoretical knowledge but also support local social organizations, strengthening their online security.
"Warsaw University of Technology focuses on development and innovative teaching methods, utilizing modern technologies," says Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Research at Warsaw University of Technology. "The grant from Google.org aligns with our efforts in this area. We are confident that the project will play a key role in training future experts who will be able to address the complex challenges related to cybersecurity."
The Google.org Cybersecurity Seminars project will be conducted simultaneously at three faculties of Warsaw University of Technology: the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences (leading role), the Faculty of Mechatronics, and the Faculty of Management.
"This fosters the exchange of knowledge and experiences among students from different fields," says the project leader, Marek Porzeżyński, PhD, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences. "We combine technical, legal, and organizational perspectives, enabling project participants to acquire the versatile skills necessary to work in the rapidly growing cybersecurity industry."
The inaugural meeting of the project, featuring Warsaw University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, was held on January 29, 2025, in Warsaw.
