In the newest ranking of the best universities from emerging countries, The Warsaw University of Technology is now placed in the 109th position. In comparison with the previous year, WUT moved up five positions, even though the number of all universities rose from 200 to 300. The Warsaw University of Technology takes the second place among all Polish universities.

Ahead of WUT, in the 78th position was the University of Warsaw. Behind WUT were Jagiellonian University in Krakow (112th place), AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (167th place). Only 9 Polish universities altogether were taken under consideration in this ranking.

On the podium were Peking University from China, Tsinghua University also from China and Russian Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017 includes only institutions in countries classified as “advanced emerging”, “secondary emerging” or “frontier” by the FTSE, including the BRICS nations of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The rankings use the same 13 performance indicators as the flagship THE World University Rankings to judge institutions on their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

This year’s table includes 41 countries, up from 35 last year.
